ANIMAL SKULLS

Did you know, by looking at an animal skull, you can identify what type of animal that was without using any fancy machinery.
EYE HOLES:
One of the things we can decipher from looking at this skull is if this animal was a herbivore or a carnivore. If the eye holes are on the side of the skull, that means the animal was a herbivore. If the eye holes are on the front of the skull, that means the animal was a carnivore.
TEETH:
Another way to tell if the animal was a herbivore, omnivore, or carnivore, look at the teeth. If the animal has sharp canines that means it’s a carnivore. If the animal has strong, flat, molars, that means it’s a herbivore. If the animal has a mix of both(sharp canines and flat molars), that means it’s an omnivore.
AFTER THAT…
If you still haven’t figured out what type of animal it was, that’s okay. Just take the animal and match it to other animal skulls.

ANIMAL ADAPTATIONS
———-> WHAT ARE ANIMAL ADAPTATIONS?
Animal adaptations means a skill or quality that the animal has in order to survive in the wild. Animals have many adaptations which allow them to survive. For example, camels have an extra transparent eyelid that protects their eyes from the harsh sandstorms in the desert.

It’s not just animals who have different adaptations, plants do too. For example, if you take a look at the cactus, it has spiky needles. That could be used for protecting itself.
